1993 3.0 2wd drive transmission

will a 95 - 97 transmission work with my 1993 and still have the speedometer work? i had a bead on a 1999 transmission but noone answered my question if it would work so i did a little searching and found it wont.

then i found that the 95-97 is a gear driven speed sensor. so i was wondering if it would work in a gear driven speedometer cable

My buddy who works at a salvage yard stated that according to is interchange only these will fit.

MAZDA B-3000 1994 M.T.; 4x2
RANGER 1991-1994 M.T.; 4x2, 6-183 (3.0L)

well i picked up a 1999 manuel tranmission for 220 we are going to take off the tail housing and see if we can swap them over if not i will just mark up what rpm is what speed on the dash

ok to close out my question you should be able to put a any year 2wd Manuel transmission in any 2wd drive manuel transmission truck provided you swap tail housings and what not to drive the speedo gear. also you have to get keep the existing shifter lever if you are for that year transmission as they face different directions when installed. any way truck moves and that is all that matters.
