Hello All I'm a newbie here, but was needing to find out where the modulatro valve on my dads 1991 Ford Ranger XLT 4 cylinder automatic transmission was located I can't seem to locate it?

Thanks all. I was also wondering am I going to have to drop this tranny to change the modulator valve and how do I know if it's bad? It's my Dads truck and with a limited income he is hoping that is all it needs not a new or rebuilt one.
