1991 Ranger Long Travel Woods / Prerunner Build

Should I push the passenger axle forword as much as I can with safe clearance than make the drivers side even with it?

Might as well... It'll improve your steering ackerman angle to some extent as well (I think I have right about ½" between that bolt and the shaft on mine).
Yes, match the position of the driver side to that of the passengerside.

Well I had a bender from harbor freigth but I didnt have the correct die size, for 1.5" OD and when it bends pipe it usually pops out of the middle and kinks. I came up with a solution, hopefully it works I havnt really tried it yet. DOM is 10$ a foot and I don't want to just try it...

I also cut out some pieces for the radius arms, all I have is a 4.5" angle grinder and its a slow process. I wish I had a plasma cutter.

That's creative thinking what you did on that HF pipe kinker lol. Definitely interested in seeing how well that works out.

You have no clue how hard it was to beat that peace of pipe into that die... I beat the thing for hours with a hammer and a bicycle peg untill it wrapped around...:icon_thumby:

I hope it works after all that beating!

Great thread! Keep it updated, I like what I see so far. :icon_thumby:

I made up the trans crossmember tonight and tacked up the radius arm forks...

Got the mig tank yesterday and it makes things a bit easyer... I just started welding.

What size materials did you use on that and what are the dimensions on that x-member?

The square tubing is 2"x3"x.125" and the ange iron on the sides was 3.5"x3.5" that was trimmed down to about 2.5"x2.5"x.250". Not sure of acctual dimentions meaning width of crossmember, and im not home to measure for you but depending on how far forword or back on the frame you go the frame changes widths...

Should be strong enough, I hope...:icon_welder:

Sorry about my spelling, I just cant seem to put the right letters together!:icon_twisted:
