Anybody know the location of the IAC valve on a 1991 Ranger 2.3L? It is not where my manual says it is, which is inside the air cleaner assembly. The truck has California emissions so I'm thinking that may be why it is not there. Any ideas? Thanks.

there should be 2 plugs off of the throttle body. The one closest to the intake tube is the wire for the IAC. another way to be sure, is to locate the throttle linkage. if you look on the other side of the throttle body, you should see a large square plug. that is the TPS if you look to the left of that, there will be a small cylinder layin down pointing to the passenger side of the engine bay. that is the IAC valve. this will all be on the firewall side of the throttle body
