1991 ranger 4x4 issue

well first post on the site, here goes

i bought a 91 ranger of a buddy of mine for my winter beater he told me the 4x4 wasn't working no biggie cuz he said it was an easy fix.

so question is where do i start? i don't know anything about rangers as my daily driver is a jap car...

so a its a 2.9L standard with electronic t-case and manual hubs

any help or links would be great as i'd like to get the 4x4 up and running and get the car off the road for winter as winters in canada suck and i'd rather use the truck in the snow
