i have a 1991 ford ranger 2.3 8 plugs with a cracked head, ive been trying to find a replecement head at the junk yards with no luck, but i did found a bunch of 4 banger mustang and i was wondering if they have the same head and if they do what years will be compatible,i hope anyone has any information that can help me.

about the 8 plug head..

I think most all of the first gen 8plug heads 89-94 may be the same in most all Ford motors..that came with 8 plug heads...

If you were on the West coast..and close you could make me an offer on one...(it's on a running 91 Ranger Core motor with low miles) I think mainly you want to match your intake setup with what you're buying..in case of crossover years...

Get the head and intake from a mustang with relatively low miles. It will bolt up, and you will have the intake to match it.

thank you, your guyses help is much appreciated

Does the mustang intake do anything to the power band?

You don't need the intake, the heads are the same for those years up to 94.While you have the head off you might just as well put on a 92-94 ranger tube header, cheap, flows a little better and takes 20 lbs off the front of your truck
