1991 Explorer Locker

I got the powertrax lock right in the front of my explorer. That is the cheapest and easiest one to install to my knowledge. I bought it off of TRS Fab P/N PT 2310. The cross shaft that kit gives you will work if you grind down your stock roll pin. I ordered the correct shaft from summit racing as apposed to grinding down the roll pin. The correct cross shaft part # on summit is RMG-3991057REA.

Welding it would be the cheapest.

Next bet would be any type of lunch box style locker (Powertrax or similar).

Lincoln Locker. Did it to mine and works great.

idk about welding the front.... my friend has a yota with a welded front and locked rear, that thing really really hard to steer on the trail. He has to unlock his hubs to make really tight turns. I hardly notice mine being locked compared to his

This is a downside with welding.
