My automatic locking hubs finally quit on me. the transfer case shifts into both 4wd and low range at the push of a button but the hubs do not lock. I want to convert them to manual locking hubs (For obvious reasons) but I'm having trouble finding a kit. does anyone know of a conversion kit that they know for sure works? or can anyone point me in the right direction?
Vehicle in question is a 1991 Ranger with the 2.9l, 5speed manual, and push button 4wd. Thanks

U-Pull-It in Omaha or Lincoln get $10 a pair and don't care if you have the accompanying hardware...

You don't really need a "kit". You just need the manual hubs, and the correct hardware set. And the goofy spline-tooth socket to install the nuts.

Do all rangers have Dana 35s? Or how would I k ow for sure if I have them?

alright. One more question. If I were to get the parts from a jeep what year/make/model should i go after?

Unlikely to find them used. They are part of a kit to make the rear axle on a YJ or TJ Wrangler free floating.

If I was to buy new I would opt for them... but as long as I can keep getting the normal Warn's for $5 a pop I am not that inclined to seek them out.

When you get them from pick and pull what kind of vehicle do you generally find them on?

My regular Warns were found on 90-97 Rangers and first gen Explorers.

yeah, that. I found a pristine set on a first gen explorer at a junkyard and snabbed them, I think it was $15 for the pair, unfortunately I didn't have my hub nut socket so didn't grab the lock nuts...

The one thing you have to watch - the vultures pick the o-rings the moment they arrive in the yard even if they don't want the hubs. The o-rings are expensive to order from Warn and adapt to get damaged if you aren't careful installing the hub i.e. if you have aftermarket rims without the recess so don't use the clips and hub shifts while your struggling to install your 35s.
