I just purchased a 1990 ranger 4x4 with the 2.9 and was wondering will a 1979 mustang cobra 302 fit in it. I have read about the explorer conversion.

I already have a C4 trans and I have read that I will need the trans extension from reading here.

Thanks,

John

The extension is if you don't feel like getting new driveshafts. So if it's 2wd and you will also be swapping in an 8.8 I wouldn't worry about the adapter/extension even if it was 4wd I would just get new drive shafts of the correct length, just my 2 cents

Will the C4 connect to the transfer case without any mods? If so, then I think I will go with the new drive shafts.

I'm looking for a new radiator, any recomendations that will keep the V8 cool?

Either a james duff conversion radiator or a 4.0 radiator
The transfer case im not to sure of, i know the manual one will since they are already bolted up to a c5 which is practically the same as a c4. I would recommend swapping a manual transfer case:) alot more reliable
