while digging threw some old files, i found this old game that ford did back in 1990. its one of those electronic showrooms that lets u build ur own car and add all the goodies along with a crude drag strip race event. the graphics are primitive, as they are only 4 color CGA, wich even in 1990 was primitive.

its ment for old dos computers, so animations may be to fast for ur modern rigs, i tested in xp and it works, wont garentee on vista or the band-aided copy of vista called windows 7. i recomend xp/98/dos for this tho and something like a pentium 1 or slower

garentee on vista or the band-aided copy of vista called windows 7.

Not to start an off topic argument here, but while Vista and 7 share a lot of the appearance of the interface, when you look at the spec sheet it becomes apparent that they are two very different operating systems. 7 has more in common with Mac OS X than is does with Vista.

Precisely why I don't use either of those turd systems.

Back on track, definitely gonna have to check it out when I get off work. Looks kinda cool.

I have to say mac is sweet with cad and design programs, Pc will do anything else so i'm torn

blast from the past i was two when that came out :icon_thumby:

I've been running both XP on one computer and Vista on another. Honestly, I like Vista more. If I had 7, I'd be happier than a fat kid trapped in McDonalds.

Anyway, I'll be checking this game out in a couple days when I get home.

I have a slightly newer(1994?) version since mine is 256 colors so the photos look okay, but it has this dumb mission mode where you have to get to some town without speeding or crashing. I always used the Taurus SHO or the tempo.:D

You'd probably have a lot of fun playing Street Rod 1. But it's an old school game where you hook up old hot rods you buy in the newpaper and drag or road race for pinks or cash. I think it's 16 color, but if you're savvy enough, there's a 64 color version for Amiga that would probably fare better under an emulator designed to run on newer systems.

Way to hijack ADMS LOL... Someone post a screenshot. Im at teh library and cant do the cool stuff.

i dont know if i can screen shoot a dos program

I love that game!

The Mullholland race is waaay toooo tough. Never could beat that '69 Fastback with the blower..

*Strike that, looks like I had Street Rod 2
