This is where we will start the build I guess. I have done tons of work already. This was originally a lighter blue truck with clear coat missing from the hood. I painted it myself in the shop I used to work out of.

The 2.9 overheated and blew a head gasket, so I referbed a 4.0 and put it in with an electric radiator fan. It runs awesome with the headers to a Dynomax muffler.

I installed the 1.5-2" lift in myself. It has the 132xs Skyjacker coils. I put a 1 1/8" spacer under the coils to get a little more. So I guess it at 3" suspension lift in front.

I put Explorer leafs in the back with the overload spring from the Ranger pack. It sits pretty level now. My bro thinks its high up front.

I put a 3" body lift on after I shot the pic above.

The rear is the 8.8 from the truck that I got the 4.0 from. It now has 4.56 gears with matching gears in the D35. I did the manual hub swap. I use 1/2" wheel spacers in the back from the auto hubs that I cut up.

I bought Pacer chrome steelies (15 x 8) that are now rusty and bent.

The tires are Kuhmo all terrains 31 x 10.50.

With the body lift:

You noticed the clear corners? Your so observant. I had to move both bumpers up to match the body.

I have some new aluminum wheels (15 x 10) to put on that I bought on CL for $200, but they turned out to be somewhat weathered.

I tryed just cleaning one up:

There was still some pitting:

It ended up looking pretty good with a polish:

Can't wait to get some 33 x 12.50 tires on these.

They will stick out more, but I think they will be slammin!:icon_bounceblue:

I'm going to start extended radius arm pics up soon. And going to 4" coils (134s already bought) with extended shackles (Autozone) for the back. I also have a manual tranny to go into it. I need to do a better job with the intake (stock). It might not do so well if I try to cross the river.

I needed to get the engine mounts out, but couldn't reach the bottom of the frame brace.

Now I can reach:

Now that the motor is out. I began to rebuild it.

Now I can put heads on:

Motor's ready, lets get the 2.9 out.

Notice that I cut the AC lines out, we won't need any of that power sucking stuff.

I started to get the wiring done before stuffing the 4.0: What a mess.

Nice clean work! I like your build alot (and that Jeep)..Mine is fairly close to yours, Even the color!

By the way....What's the actual color, Other than Blue :D

Thanks a lot. It takes work.

What's the actual color, Other than Blue :D

I found this color on a Sherwin Williams auto paint colorwheel. I painted it over three years ago and don't remember the color. I still have about half a gallon to repaint it when there are too many scratches that I can't stand it. I used a two stage paint (color then clear) and borrowed a sign shop's $350 paint gun. I'm not sure I'd have the patience to do the whole truck again, and I'm not sure that I'm talented enough to spot shoot the parts that are flaking/scratched. Not sure what I want to do.

Is that Leavenworth or Lyon on the old license plate? I'm up in the LV, sharp truck

isn't that jeep a wagoneer, not a Cherokee? dont mind my spelling, lol

I'm not too familiar with the classic Jeep stuff. I remember that it has a Lerado emblem on it and I thought the owner said it was a Cherokee. Again, not a pro. I was at one time thinking about getting it from him, but I don't know if he's still selling it.

I moved to Salina from Lyon county. I am now in SA.

Well then maybe when I get my SAS done (hopefully by this time next year), we'll have to meet and hit up the Tuttle Creak ORV park sometime

I Love my wife!

Been a while since I changed anything on the truck.

I did put a receiver hitch on it from a newer exploder. I had to chop and re-weld, but that's typical of working on the pickup.

I got a flat coming home last night (had a bungee hook in it). While I had the wheel off I put one of the new rims on just for a look-see.

My wife said that I was going to get me either new tires or a gun for Christmas. I love her so much! I think 33" Dick Cepek Mud Country or Goodyear MT/R. Whichever I can get mounted for under $1000.

I also just wanted to let you know that I love the electric fan that I have. I have good cooling in all conditions and lots of power from the 4.0. Notice also that I didn't get a A/C compressor with this motor from the donor.

I also wanted to brag about my now bus seats. These were found on Craigslist last year and were $60 buck for the pair.

Very nice looking truck. Its awesome to see another second gen! Those wheels and a set of 33 are gonna make it look much more aggressive.
