1990 4x4 ranger V8 swap questions!

I bought a 1990 4x4 XLT with a 5 speed recently and I am planning to swap a 302 into it. Any advice? Recommendations? Things I need to be aware of? Anywhere I can find more information just to make my life easier while doing this?

Technical Library has los of info. make it easy on yourself--use flat steel plates on top of the V6 engine mounts, get a double core Explorer radiator, use the Explorer FEAD, find an M5ODR2 trans and NP205 transfer case, and full length driveshaft from a later Ranger. I prefer the fuel injection, but a carb is easier to wire. Lots of details to figure out--and budget will probably be at least $4-5K if you rebuild the engine.
