I have a 1990 ranger with the 2.9. last week i was leaveing work and when i went to start the truck all it did was crank and not turn over, but i noticed my fuel pump was still running. i eventually got it started and it runs fine once started. i changed the fuel pressure regulator thinking it was stuck open but that didnt fix the issue. now it wont start at all no matter what i do, and the fuel pump just keeps going and going no matter how long i let it sit. do you think if i put a new pump in it would fix the issue or could it be something else. any help would be appreciated.:icon_confused:

I would start by pulling the fuel line at the engine and then aim it into a can r some container to catch the fuel. Then turn the key on and see if fuel comes out of the line. if no fuel then you have an issue in the line from the pump to the engine. If you get fuel, then check things on the engined side.

Good Luck . . .
