1989 WALL-E Ranger Build

Id have to trailer the truck there, the pass side tire is almost sideways in the truck. Im going to take it apart tomorrow and put my degree gauge on it and see if I can get close to the range

My life is full of projects, We knocked out a full 8" lift and such on a 78 bronco in two days. Such = full tune up and rebuild of everything leaking and floor pans. I have a lot of help from my good friends. Were like a pit crew. Youve probably seen my 49 pickup and 84 monte in the background of my pics. Works in progress... over decades..

When I get done work today Im going to try aligning the tires as best I can with the stock ball joints. Gonna try the method in the tech library with the degree meter on the knuckle. Just waiting on my drop pitman arm and the truck should be in good condition.

Anyone have any idea if I was to Shackle lift the rear will it move the tires forward? When we did the 8" shackle on the bronco the rear was moved forward 2"

I keep seeing people buying these belltech shackles. They are around 60$.

Autozone carries "lowering shackles" for around 39.99, plus my commercial account ill get some more off.

I measured the Camber on the bad side, aka the passenger side, and im quite disappointed. I measured a 7.5* camber. Theres no bringing that back to true.

I believe with a 4* bushing I can get to 3.5* but this is still over the max what can I do .

A friend has the 6" drop brackets, but I would still need to get the camber bushings. Im thinking of just dropping to 4" coils and saying screw it and hopefully the truck will be alright

Today I unbolted the shocks in the front to let the coils sag faster if they still have to. So I removed the shocks and while I had been checking the caster before I took apart the hub. Well I needed a new wheel seal so I installed that. While putting back together the hub, the first spindle lock nut got put on and the washer, but the last one I accidentally cross threaded. Well I went to removed the one that was on to maybe correct the threads and stripped it out. Well after pricing out a spindle and two lock nuts, I cant afford 300$. So using a dremel and a hacksaw I corrected the horribly macked threads some how and it worked fine after an hour. So after putting the hubs back together I dropped the truck on the stock tires so I dont ruin the lugs on my tsls. We were going to flex the truck on a dirt hill I have in my yard to help with the coils, but I remember I didnt put the radius arm bushings on all the way.

Heres a few pics of how I think the bushings were suppose to go on... This was no easy task and I dont believe I did it right if it too that much effort.
I do have extended radius arms and I dont know if the stock kit from autozone will work with these radius arm drops.

I dont know if this is the correct way, or...

After about 30mins of pushing and hoping I got the nut on

I dont know if this is correct, but I had the front of the axle lifted as high as my jack could go to level it out, and the ratchet strap pulled tight from the front of the axle to the trans member

The bushing now hits the trans cross member

Ordered the camber bushings today from napa, the largest a 4x4 get is the 0-(+-) 3 1/4 ones.

Hoping my pitman arm drop gets shipped soon so I can eliminate all issues and see what I have to do.

me thinks your camber issues may be a side effect of a toe issue. if your toe is too far out of spec it can cause the suspension to lift and bind itself up. does it squat down low if you roll it backwards?

Haven't been able to check will tomorrow

Update: put the adj camber bushing in the pass side. All the way torque to bring the tire in. I took the advice rode around for a bit in the yard then parked it checked the tires then rolled back 20 ft and they were straight! I had adjusted the toe 2 full turns each side but i guess I need 1 or 2 more. Pics to come. Thanks for the advice folks.

it doesn't take a whole lot of toe to get the ttb suspension to bind itself up and start doing wacky things. the dead giveaway is lifting in one direction and squatting in the other.

With the pass side bushing cranked in all the way and the toe pushed out, the tires looks good in reverse but forward still point out. I think I need to keep pushing out the toe. But without my drop pitman arm, I feel like I would just be pissing In the wind

Yes you would.

Patience is a virtue my friend

I know, but everyone wants their goodies to come in the mail. Id just like to get this thing done so I can hit the woods once again. Only thing is I have to pay another 142$ for title and registration a second time because the insurance company wont accept the truck being in my name for my parents policy.... ugh
