I couldn't seem to get an answer elsewhere, so I'll ask again.

I broke the inside (race/bearings) of the rear CV socket, but the shaft and splines are ok. I found a part on RockAuto, but I'm planning on placing a large order through Bronco Graveyard.

Outer Joint TRW Part # 22669W is the part I found on RA, is that the part I need?

You're saying you broke the bearing caps on the universal joint correct? If so and everything but the universal is ok then all you need to do is take the universal down to an auto parts and they should be able to match you up a new one.

I think he is referring to a CV type shaft so I am unsure if this would apply.

Sorry I don't have an answer for you if it is CV shaft. I personally liked the CV shaft, but they are considered a weak design which is why you don't find them for replacements. If you are putting some heavy loads on it like many of the off road guys do here it might be worth considering upgrading. If it is a road vehicle with stock engine if you can find/replace part that be great. I just don't know the answer to your question so someone with more knowledge will have to chime in.

It is indeed the CV style shaft. I'm only putting stock power through it, and have no intentions of lifting it.

Bueller? Bueller?

The shaft comes out of the socket, surely someone knows a part number for the outer race/ball bearing assembly? My inner race is just fine.

It may be a complete assembly as to why you can't find specific single parts. I can't find anything on it, and the part number you list is for a standard u-joint not a CV joint.

Thanks for clearing that up, I appreciate it!
