1989 4x4 2.9l ranger ac install?

Hi! i have a 89 ranger with a 2.9l v6 with only 117,000 miles! Anyway i love this truck just stole a black interior out of an 04 Mazda to replace the dated seats! As we all know its getting hot and i wanted to start looking into installing ac in this truck so i would like to get some advice on what to do and get outside of the ac parts Ex a new computer? would really appreciate the help thanks!

This truck never had A/C?

your best bet will be to grab the entire system off of a junkyard truck. you might even get lucky and be able to remove the whole thing without discharging it.

you will need the heater box from the donor truck, all the hoses, the, the compressor, condenser, evaporator, etc.. be sure to grab any brackets you might need too. If you have to open the system, leave the accumulator/dryer and get a brand new one, plus all new o-rings. convert it to R134a while you are at it.

you will also need the dash control panel to turn it on/ off and maybe wiring harness for it, wiring harness and relay for under the hood and activating the clutch.

lot of work, but it might pay off if you are in a really hot area and can do the work yourself.

The dash wiring will already be there. The engine bay wiring will not.
