I got one at my local O'Reilly's not long ago. Check your local auto parts. shady

I check all the local and even oreilly which gave me the wrong part. I really need one asap. Anyone can help I will pay shipping to 27549 and even $10 more for finders fee.

Try speedwaymotors.com They have a surprising amount of parts for the 2.3, and I know I saw a thermostat housing in one of their last flyers. I just checked the website, but they don't have it listed. Their number is 1-800-979-0122. Like I said, I know they have one, cause I was just looking at it for mine about 2 weeks ago. Just give them a call, and I'm sure they'll set you up. Iirc, it was 39.99

This part is also called a water neck outlet. Have your parts stores check using this name. I can't believe you can't find one right away. I will check my local parts stores tomorrow. shady

Need Help

Will any other year thermostat housing fit my 89 2.3L? I Really need to find this part asap!! If anyone know where or how I can get either a 1989 one or one that will fit that is new not used let me know please.

I had a spare one from an 89 mustang that would work...but it's rusty...and shipping from Canada to 27549 would take a week and cost more than a local auto wreckers...not sure if I still have it but I can check for you...

Don't you have any junkyards in your area? I think I got the last one free with the head...

What other years will work? Will a mustang on work? I would like to find a new one.

Junkyard.

My 93' 2.3 should be close to yours. Mine rusted out too. I just ended up using one from a 97'. You'll have to use a 97's upper rad. hose and use a brass plug to fill in where the temp sensor goes on the 97, but has worked great for me.

Yes, mustang 2.3 is the same engine essentially as the Ranger...most parts like the belt cover, T-stat housing, timing gear, intake, exhaust will all work on the same model years...and even some parts from newer or older will swap right on...with some small adjustments in some cases...

Autopartswarehouse.com, Mustang Should Work, Unless You Have The Lima Motor, Im Not Sure What Years That One Is. Most Places Have It Listed As Thermostat Housing, Search Thermostats And The Housing Should Come Up In The Accessories Column

i ran into the same problem with my 1990, for whatever reason no one makes our style water outlet anymore.

take a look at the mid-90s (1995 for example) 2.3l water outlet, you may be able to make one work. you'll need to plug the sensor port in it and modify your heater hose however.

i'm not running a heater core in my truck so elected to order a 1975 ford pinto outlet, it has a single outlet for the radiator hose only (no heater tube).i'm going to try an early 80s ranger upper radiator hose... hopefully it all works out.

good luck

thermostat housing

I ordered one from LMC it works great. The neck for the hose is not as long but everything else is the same. Also thicker material and the original hose worked also. Just don't have as much neck to it.
