Hi I have a 1988 Ford Ranger STX and I need a frontdrive shaft. I was wondering if the STX came with a differnt length frontdrive shaft than the standard Ranger? Also if anyone knows where i could get a Frontdrive shaft for a STX let me know THANKS!

Front shaft length would be affected more by transmission than by trim level. In 88 all the transmissions were the same length, but if you have the Highrider package you may need a longer one.

i have worked on some hiriders that had the bolt on front shaft and some with a slip at the case:dunno:

look at it and measure it. i used a slip one from a reg cab in my non hi rider ext cab before.

i used a 1350m with a slip style to replace the 1350e with a captive yoke. the captive yoke has a cardian style joint at one end to deal with a vibration while in 4wd
