got some more done on the welding cart

there are some long u-shaped pieces i cut off to use to coil the 3 wires

made the gas tub holder as well, gonna use the child seat-belt latch thing to hold them (if i ever get gas for it)

still gotta tack it down in a few places, but i think that's how it's gonna stay. gotta figure out a way to secure it to the cart as well, it slid off tonight when i was cleaning up.

picked up the leaf spring bushings as well. these things are NICE. it was only $50 for the kit too. part # was 4.2124R at autozone. had them shipped to my old store, so free shipping.

the ones on the left are for the rear spring eye, the middle are for the front and the ones on the right go through the explorer frame. so of course, i wont be using those. maybe i can find another use for them.

i rented a ball joint press while i was there, it makes installing them really easy, but the old ones dont wanna come out....ugggghhh, too bad they dont sell elbow grease at the autozone i went to

those bushings are a BITCH. i got the inner metal sleeve out of all of them, but not the outer. the outers are tight as hell and of course almost rusted solid. they take forever to get out. i ended up heating them with a torch (and getting high on burning rubber fumes, YUCK) and knocking them out.

if my ballistic order shows up, i'll be doing the front lift on sunday since it's supposed to rain all day tomorrow

metal has been located, FINALLY.......only problem is that they're open from 730 - 5 M-F, so only while i'm at work, POO....gonna have to take a day off or something.

they only sell it in 20' lengths too, so i'm gonna have to figure something out. i dont even know how i'd transport that

no lift today. tornado watch the WHOLE damn day.....doesnt end til 9pm.

got the old bushings out of the leafs and the new ones in. used some punches, the sawzall and a BFH....came right out, lol.

ballistic order shipped yesterday, guess it'll be here some time next week.

well benny, you were right, those axle shafts slide right through the knuckles. i tapped it a bit with a hammer and they went right in.

started installing the hubs and rotors and stuff last night, didnt get too far though. i had to go buy one of those hub nuts from the auto store. i should get them done tonight. that'll mean the D35 is ready to go in.

me and the wife were supposed to go out of town this weekend, but due to the tornadoes, vacation is cancelled for the next 2 weeks. (we both work for an insurance company) i have friday off, so i'm gonna start the lift then or on saturday. i'm going out with some buddies tomorrow night, so i dont know how i'll be feeling fridya morning. i at least wanna get the front on.

got my ballistic order as well, the gusset i bought looks like it's gonna be too small, we'll have to see once i get the lift bracket in. i'll probably be able to find something to do with it

well, due to the tornadoes, i found out i have to work friday and saturday now, so most likely no lift AGAIN this weekend. FFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUCCC........

and the pass side hub, it even works! lol

having some trouble with the driver side hub, it doesnt wanna go on for some reason. gonna go down and mess with it now. hopefully i can get started on the lift. going down to eastern NC for easter tomorrow so i wont be able to work on it.

honestly 20' sticks costs me $22 more than what it would have costs to get the lengths i needed- and for them to cut it, i would have had to wait 3 days... so why would i have not got the 20'??

here's how i hauled mine, it road 148 miles one way to go build my bumper

except it was behind my b2 not the chevy

edit: nevermind- i moved it around a little, put the front liftgate down on the trailer, moved it back some and kept the rear high. but it hauled just fine. 20' sticks on a 13.5' trailer.

my trailer is an 8 foot, so i could easily haul two 10 foot pieces if i were to cut it in half with my sawzall or grinder. i bet they would cut it in half real quick too. only problem is, i have no idea when i'll be able to go get it. they're open M-F 730-5.....i work M-F 8-5. i'll have to take a half day off sometime i guess.
