Need help bad A4ld no reverse seems to go fine in overdrive up on jacks. Worth buying rebuilt body of valves? Any checks I could do? Read manual and seen it says you can take off body of valves and introduce air pressure to see if band engages but with body of valves off passages are open no way to hold air pressure. At a loss on this one truck is not worth price of rebuilt transmission. Have to much money into it to let it sit. Also it goes into reverse for about a second then just stops

Depends on what exactly you want to do. If you want to keep it forever, then maybe its worth a transmission, but if you are just trying to get it to move to sell it, sell it as is where is and tell the buyer the problem and price it accordingly. I bought my 88 EB B2 for $800, I've poured about $13k into it...about what they cost new. Rebuilt Transmission by AAMCO 3+ years ago, and a remanufactured engine about 2 years ago. I want my Bronco 2 around for as long as possible so for me it was worth the money because I love driving it.

I wouldn't bother too much throwing parts at them, I'd really spend the money and have it rebuilt the right way.

yeah prob best just a mud truck that I have about 3k into already
