1987 Ranger model question

Hi everyone,

I'm looking at purchasing a 1987 ranger XLT 4x4. Owner purchased it new. Under the XLT emblem it has another emblem VIP. Was this a special order truck? Or does anyone know why VIP emblem is there? I have not seen one like this. Any information is appreciated. Happy holidays to everyone...

all the Dealer markings I have seen have been on the tailgate.

I've got an 1987 Tempo with the same VIP markings.

VIP looks just like yours, even on the fender, its located under XLT emblem. What is it suppost to mean?

Don't know really. The Tempo is just a GL model with the 2.3l MTX 5spd with factory air. It does have a spoiler on the trunk lid and graphics along the bottom and got 45MPG on the highway.
