1987 ranger 2.9l auto , 2wd

Hi there. I am in need of ideas to get my ranger running. It is a 1987 ford ranger 2wd, 2.9L automatic.The engine spins over but will not start. There is spark because when I shoot fuel down the throttle body it starts then dies. I have changed the inertia switch, computer, tried a new fuel pump relay and manually jumper-wired to get power from the fuel pump to get fuel to the rail. I have tried to start truck after each procedure and still can't get the fuel relay to click on to turn the fuel system on. Any ideas?

Do you hear the fuel pump run when you jumper power to it?

hi there i dont hear pumps turn on on ether tanks thats why i went to the relay im stumped on this on

lol sorry yes the pump turs on and there is fuel at the rail but still wont start its like the injectors wont turn on

Pull one of the injector plugs off and measure and see if it has 12 volts. all the injectors should have 12+ at the them when the key is on, the computer applies the ground to fire the injector.

When you first turn the key on before you try starting the truck is the check engine light coming on?

Have you tried the pumps themselves?

i will try and see if there is power at injectors with key on !! and yes i can manuly power pumps i just cant get to fuel system to turn on there is power to the fuel pump relay , i just have no past there !!!

the check engine light comes on , i will measure to see if there is 12 v at injectors what if there is no power there ???? i have tryed ecm inurtia switch relay
