So I'm balls deep in this front end I got new wheel joints, Spindle bearings, Brakes calipers, wheel bearings and seals But I'm wondering about my locking hubs how do I tear them down and do they make a rebuild/ repair kit ?

IIRC, theres a large snap ring you gotta pull out first, then everything just slides right out. take out all the parts, clean em up and re-lube. a little light grease or heavy oil works just fine, dont go crazy with it.

I pulled the snap rings and nothing

I really just want the new outer seal for both also any clue on good after market hubs ?

ive never had a problem with stock d28 hubs, i broke shafts first. might be able to get replacements from mile marker or warn, im not sure.

I just did the warn locking hubs on my d-35. If they are the same other than size with the d-28 then once you remove the snap ring then there is some swearing to do before the rest of the insides want to come out. I used a pick to "help" the insides slide out while holding the hub upside down.

the pick sound like a great Idea and ii found some AVM hubs not sure about them though Oh and thanks guys

Mile marker makes some good quality aftermarket hubs too that's what I have on my ranger

When I picked up my 84 B2 last November, I took the hubs off it and just put a light coat of grease in them, but they seemed to have quite a bit of grease already so at least they weren't dry. They seem to work well and look to be the original hubs, and by the looks of the rest of my B2 I'm sure they've been worked pretty hard and have survived so I wouldn't worry about doing too much to your original ones unless they're not working.
