1987 2.9 egr tube

Found the intake, no EGR valve, no tube. Those parts must have been sent to Jersey.

no problem thanks anyway adsm08

EGR tubes are a bear - I snapped the tube on my Tempo, but luckily had another engine to take one from.. Either way, it was an epic time vampire. I would be real tempted to swap computers in your case. Saw a 88 manual ecm for a 2.9L for sale, but on another forum. They are around.

I saw that one pete, except mines a 4x4 that ecm is out of a 2wd. Not sure if that matters

Earl thanks very much for the offer but sadly I have a manual trans.

NEVERDONE86 thanks I only have the one fitting that's on the egr now, I scrapped the manifold with the fittings and half the tube attached. Maybe I can source the fitting at a plumbing warehouse or ford dealer?

AllanD thanks for all the info I'm gonna try to just get the egr hooked up for now until I come across a computer
I have a couple of them for manual trans here, I have a 4.0 now so i have no use for them, I believe I have an 88 manual trans, a 92 manual trans and a 90 Cali MAF manual trans. PM me and let me know which ones you want

you try running a tap threw it that is the same threds as the fittings you have? if its close that you shoud be able to run the right tap threw it and make it work

the manifold thread should be a pipe thread. If you are going to replace it with a copper tube yo can buy a brass adapter going from a pipe thread to a flare fitting. Then you can cut the copper tubing to the right length and use flare nuts.

hw much you want for the 88 2.9 4x4 manual computer?

It's not pipe thread in the manifold, plus it's metric. Couldn't find anything at home depot that would work

I have an 87 2.9l auto 4x4 with a snapped egr tube. I can get a computer out of a 1990 2.9l auto 4x2 would that work on my 4x4?

other items that need to be taken off?

so the egr has to be blocked with a plate and on the exhaust o plug what about the fuel canister what's that hook to? also what about the air box that's below the air filter what do those lines hook to and the map sensor can anyone help me out? thanks bo
