1986 ranger 4 cyl 2.0L

replacement carb

Thanks for the reply Mark_88. Funny the reason I am replacing the original is because several people have "rebuilt" it for me. Now its running so rich the snow is black at the exhaust pipe. I think someone screwed up because once my truck came back with an alien carb on it don't know what it came off of. Anyways it won't idle worth a crap electric choke is laying on the seat. Choke plate is wired open. I am tired of screwing with it. My gas mileage is what I would expect from a v8, YIKES.
I am going to order the new on and hope we are good to go.

Hope it works better...my float bowl was set too high once and it was causing all kinds of problems...especially excessive fuel burning because it was flowing over the top of the bowl and running down onto the road...but some was going down the carb and would eventually stall out on the highway.

Doesn't sound like your issue so maybe it will fix everything...:icon_thumby:
