1986 Ford ranger

My truck keeps stalling when it happens smoke comes out of exhaust but then starts right up it's a V6 with a 4-speed

What color smoke?

Any other symptoms? Or is it like someone just shuts the key off

I can drive it sometime for like an hour it doesn't happen at all then sometimes it happens a lot when it happens to the motor was stumble it's not in the key switch it's in the motor I think it's loading up on gas that's why I see comes out of the tailpipe when it happens

Sometimes when it's happening I could rev the motor and it goes away

Get a code reader and try to pull the codes. It could be a sensor (TPS, MAP, etc)

Whens the last time it had plugs/wires/cap/rotor?

Check your oxygen sensor. I had the same exact problem could not figure it out. And I did a tuneup before I drove to Washington, but the only thing different I did as a tuneup was changed the oxygen sensor and never had that problem again.
