Can someone tell me approx. how many hours it takes to do a 3" body lift on a Bronco II? and/if any other modifications have to be done, besides relocating the rear bumper?

Thanks!
Chaz

Really depends on how rusty everything is... Could take as little as a few hours... Or could take a week or even longer (ordering replacement parts, waiting for said parts, then discovering something else is needed... Rinse, repeat). The body bushing sleeves and bolts are likely problem areas for rust.

You'll probably want to relocate the front bumper too, not just the rear. A steering shaft extension is needed (though most kits I believe include this part). Possibly might need a shifter extension too if you have a stickshift.

And if you're doing the lift may as well do the bushings too. Mine were toast, plus the old ones had all the washers stuck to them and were rusted badly. Make sure you get a dependable kit with all associated parts. A good floor jack is needed and jackstands and 2x4 to distribute the load, sawzall for the rusted bolts for sure. One side at a time, lots of hidden bolts too. Takes 2 people in some areas because of where the bolts and nuts are. My son and I did mine in like 4 hours. Lift and bushings,

I don't plan on doing it. I was thinking of having a shop do it. I know a guy behind my property who does it. Just wanted to get opinions before I asked him...

Thanks!!!

Chaz.

Have all new hardware on hand before you start.

If I went with a suspension lift, does anyone make a complete kit for a 3"? Shocks springs and all?
