I have a 1986 ford ranger with a 2.3l fuel injected.I have this problem when it runs.Every time i run it it smokes white smoke and grayish smoke and smells like gas.It runs very bad and does not have any power until it warms up.when it gets warm the smokes goes away and runs just fine.I think it could be getting gas into the motor when it is off. Please help thanks.

Worst case scenario (and my first thought) is that the head gasket is leaking, and when it warms up, the head and block expand and it seals it. Check for anti-freeze consumption (also check the coolant for black, oiliness, or murkiness), check for milky oil. Try doing a cylinder blow-by test with the truck cold (listen at the radiator cap for air/bubbles)

Could also be a fuel issue. Leaky injectors. Fuel (and the injectors) expands when it warms up, there could be a slight leak in the injector and when it warms up its seals off.
