Okay, so after knocking my head for the 3rd time, I went to the autoparts store to get new hydraulics because I figured there is no way the ones on can be correct - my rear glass raises so that it is exactly perpendicular to the ground. Well, the ones on it are correct.

So, how do I make this glass rise up to it's potential (take the hydraulics off and it'll fold straight up in the air)...
  • Buy a different hydraulic that will make it rise more than it does (if anyone has done this, please share which ones you used)?
  • change the mounts so that I get another couple inches rise out of it?
  • I'll take a pic in a bit and illustrate how low it is on the rise

I'm quessing the hydraulics you picked up are actually for hoods and not rear lift windows like on a B2 or my rangers camper shell. If thats the case I would try an rv parts store or look online for a hydraulic ram that extends to the lenght that you want and that can compress to below what you need when closed.

Try this link http://autogasspringsstore.com/mainpage.php it might help.

Nah, I double-checked...I'm thinking that what I'll do is find one that has a longer "tube" and shorter "Piston" (I'm sure the terminology may be flawed), and that way it extends longer without closing on itself so that the window won't close or do I need a longer tube so that it has more "height ability"?

The part number on them are: Suspa c-16-08941...but I had the cat at autozone look again and his were the same length (we tried them out); the guy I bought it from put these on...

You just need to open that window to how far open you want it and measure from one mounting pin to the other for length, then buy the right length lift supports.

While making sure that the closed length is acceptable.
