1985 Ranger transmission ?

I am the proud owner of a 1985 Ranger 2.8 Automatic with overdrive. The this is this the trans was replaced and I am trying to determine if it was replaced with a 3speed. It does not try to shift into 4th gear at all. I got the numbers off the trasmission. Can any one help
