yesterday when i got to work, the shifter slipped out of the cup on the inner shaft to shange gears in my 5 speed, i went home in my Semi and got my bag of tools to set it back in the cup, got it all together again after work in a few short minutes (happened before so i knew what i needed to do).
Well, i headed home in the Ranger and 1/2 way the transmission started sounding like a roto hammer drilling a hole in concrete in first, second & third. not so much fourth.

still runs and moves, but sounds horrible and iam afraid it will grenede on me if i drive it.

what should i look for?
im wondering if something fell in the top, but nothing was around the hole as i replaced the shifter.

You might wanna take the bottom off and see if there is anything that comes out, make sure you drain it first.

Managed to pull the trans out, popped off the 12 bolt pan and quite a few chunks of gear teeth came off with it, Oh well.

Now battling the local wrecking yards for their golden ranger transmissions.
