1985 2.8 to 1988 2.3

I have an 85 B2 with an 2.8L and wanting to know pro's & cons of swaping to an 88 F.I 2.3L. The 2.8L is week and have a donor 88 2.3L Ranger with a new rebuild. The rebuild included some small mods i.e. cam & header.The B2 has an auto trans while the 2.3L has a 5 speed. Will the auto trans bolt to the 2.3? Thank you

nope. bell pattern is wrong. Your 4 banger might be making more power than the 2.8 by now though. Thats all I got.

Stick a 5spd behind the 2.8L and feel the difference!! My 2.8L feels hella torquey with 31's. I mean on hills it kinda sucks sometimes but for the most part the thing will smoke tires.
