I need alternator bracket and power steering bracket for the 2.3L in my new 1985 Ranger. If you can spare it I need the bracket mounting hardware as well as the alternator and pump mounting hardware. From what I understand these brackets can come from a 1983-1987 2.0L or 2.3L gas engine Ranger.

I've got a power stering pump and alternator I can use from my totaled 2.8L truck, but they are v-belt instead of grooved. Might get a new alternator in which case I'll only need a power steering pump pulley.

Also need timing cover hardware if you've got it to spare. I've got the cover int he bed of the truck, but no hardware. If I can;t get hardware, I don't mind buying new, but I'd rather not make a dozen trips to the hardware store trying to get the right stuff.

I'm located near Macon, GA. If I can meet within a couple hour drive I'm willing to get them in person, if not I'll pay for shipping if the price isn't too crazy.

A previous owner started disassembling for repair and didn't include them or a bunch of other parts when he sold the vehicle. Didn't care when I bought it because I wasn't planning to use the engine. Now I want to use the engine and need the parts. Most of what isn't installed is in the truck or I'll buy new, but used is the only options for these big parts and the local salvage yards are terrible.

So a guy on a Facebook 2.3L showed me what the brackets are supposed to look like. I'd seen similar in eBay which gave me part numbers to search. After some visual comparison between the same parts with a '85 and '88 part number they looked the same. I ordered an '88 power steering bracket with idler pulley and alternator bracket attached.

At $80 shipped it was more than I wanted to spend for the part with no hardware, but at least I've got it secured. Hopefully it'll be the right thing when it arrives.

Did you get everything you needed? I have three different 2.3 accessory setups if you end up needing anything else.

Thank you, but I believe that I found everything. The project is actually on long term hiatus. I may get it reassembled and running enough to move under its own power, but due to overall condition of the truck I won't be doing much else until I have some other projects done and a proper place to tackle the work.
