1984 rear tank info?

I recently acquired an 84 Ranger long bed with the dual tank option.
The saddle tank is missing and I'm swapping the carb to a Holley Sniper EFI setup. (I should mention the stock 6 is long gone and a healthy 351W now resides under the hood.)
Anyways, since the tank needs to be dropped for a return line install, I figured just going with a a new tank as they are rather inexpensive. I've found some online as a 23 gallon Ranger/Bronco II replacement. I think the stocker is a 13 gallon only?
Anyways, I've tried doing some searching on here and can't find an adequate answer.. So if anyone can help this forum newbie, I'd greatly appreciate it!

Stock Ranger Aux tank is 13 gallons. A B2 tank is 23 gallons. The filler neck on the B2 is in the wrong spot, and the tank itself is much deeper, requiring the bed to be body lifted a few inches, as well as modification to a rear cross member, and IIRC, removal of the spare tire holder.

There is a member here who has a B2 tank mounted aft-of-axle in a Ranger. I can picture the avatar, but the user name escapes me at the moment.

Hmmmm... Mine isn't a 4x4 and no body lift either. lol
I should probably just buy a saddle tank then as apparently the OEM rear tank is like hens teeth. I wanted to use the rear tank for some added weight for the rearend, but 13 gallons full is about 100 lbs only. Thank you for your help, Sir!

Quite a bit of modification needed

LMC truck has the coffin style side tank, 17 gallon: http://www.lmctruck.com/features/fr/FRGTK.htm

If you don't need that space then the front tank might be a better way to go

Well, that's a bit disappointing. I would like to have an aux tank but not that bad. I guess it's back the the original 5 gallon Jerry can plan...

I still want to know the part number for the F-350 tank referred to in post #440.

I'm not quite ready to cut an 1-1/2" out of the BII tank and attempt to weld it back together/get re-gavanized, but getting closer...

Another option is putting a fuel cell there... but there are a lot of factors involved in that.

I doubt you will ever find a good junkyard tank, I have all three '86 up rear tanks I've ever found and two of them are basically junk. They are incredibly hard to find and haven't been made for many years. I'd be real tempted to either use a B2 tank or do a fuel cell... especially on a street truck.

I really wish someone would start repopping the aux 13 gallon ranger tank. I thought it would be cool to install said tank on my truck and use it as my main tank, but unfortunately they're very hard to find in good shape, along with the sender. The tank currently in my truck I've had to repair rust on, and here 3 years later its leaking again, so another pinhole must have come through. The other tank I found is completely rusty on the inside.

in your user settings you can change the amount of posts per page. I highly recommend putting yours on the max setting so you don't have to wade through so many pages.
