1984 Ranger, 351w, gasser style

Interesting. Not the way I'd go with it, but I can't deny its unique. And you appear to do great work!

I'll take that as a compliment! :D

Finished the other header today. It only took about 3 hours, compared to about 5 for the drivers side.

Headers look great!

Thanks! I wish I had a tig welder so I could makke the welds a little smoother, but my mig worked OK. I just had to stop every 1/4" or so and let the puddle cool for half a sec or it would blow right through. On the next heat setting down it wouldn't penetrate well so that was how it had to be done.

I agree, they look good. Don't beat yourself up on the welding ability. Practice makes perfect. I had a buddy that worked as a welder at a fencing company and he welded my exhaust with my lincoln weldpac100. You could hardly see the seam it was so smooth, mine looked like rabbit turds. Same machine, too.

Your headers look awesome. I'm in the process of dealing with the same with my 351C swap. Where did you get the kit from!

Tuned in and watching!! I love old Gassers!! This is sweet.
Now if you was doing this using a Bronco2 I would have questioned your sanity. LOL!
I have a old 66 International shortbed stepside truck I want to stick my 429 into and make it a FX Gasser.

I got the kit from summit. It was a sprint car kit and cost about 130 bucks if I remember right. It worked great, but figure on cutting and changing every tube in multiple places. I don't know if they have a kit with 351c flanges; you'll have to check.

Thanks! A binder with a 429 would be awesome, do it!:headbang:

Well the exhaust is welded, wrapped, capped, hung, and done! No I can focus on all the smalls.

Oh yeah, I finished it out in 2.5" with a couple 36" Smithy glass packs and dumped past the cab. Should sound very old school!

Awesome build! Glad u went with class packs, I love the sound from them!

love the build, need a tunnelram highrise dual quad intake ... to Get that true gasser look!
Oh yeah..gotta get Velocity stacks too!! LOL!

Here's a video update from today-
I still have a few little things to do, like re-route the upper radiator hose and weld up the rear gears, but it'll be on a test drive soon. After I shot this video the dang shifter came apart somewhere so I have to figure out what happened there. It sounds amazing, waay better than the audio suggests. I guess my camcorder surpresses the noise when it's too loud for it to handle. :headbang:
