good evening nerds,
I didn't think about this very much when I did it but I swapped the steering box on my 1984 2.0L 2WD last week, from manual to power steering (while adding power steering..) and I used the pitman arm that came with the donor ps steering box truck, slightly longer than the old manual box pitman arm.

when I steer all the way in either direction, I feel the truck bending to the side somewhat. Am I paranoid to think maybe I should put the shorter pitman arm on there? got tipped off by reading about how pitman arm for 2wd and 4wd are different parts, and I suspect the donor truck was 4wd..

otherwise obviously, pretty cool to have ps.

yeah. sounds like you got this.

there are several arms for 2wd to 4wd rangers. often the 2wd ps is cast into them. there are variations i use from stock f 250/350 for lift...

the really small rangers have a 5 inch arm....4x4 is 5.3xx... it is over 5 1/4 for sure center to center for certain years. the explorer had variance and heavier tierods and arms.
