My credo
Credo?... what's that?
I got a 2.3l turbo out of an 84 svo mustang to drop into my 1990 ford ranger. I was looking at the esslinger e2277 ca for the engine. What other parts would I need for the valve train or do I just drop the camshaft right in? :icon_confused:

I also do not have a wiring harness or ecu for the engine, should I invest in the pimp ecu from stnger performance?

As far as the ECU it depends on what you want to have has a final result and cost. If your going to pretty much leave the engine stock I would just get a factory ECU and wiring, if you plan on upping the power with different injectors, cam and turbo and other stuff then I would go with the pimp.

I do plan on putting a cam, injectors, turbo, and a larger intercooler. So I should invest in the pimp? @Haywire6000

What will you do with the resultant HP/TORQUE? The truck has so little weight in the back that you'll turn the tires to smoke before you need to fill the fuel tank again.
Just get the factory and install that. The SVO I rode in had so much power that it was a bit scary. You don't need any more. You may want it, but I don't see what you'll do with it. You can diddle with the MAP sensor if you want to increase boost over factory, but you may be buying another engine. Same with the other 'things', as the engine was designed for 'so much' boost and adding more puts you out where the dollar bills learn to fly. Right out of your pocket. And, you STILL can't use all that HP/TORQUE. Have fun spending the moolah.
