i Know that this is probably documented somewhere but i cannot find it...do they make an install kit or will this be a cut and hack job???

As long as you have the rectangular opening you can get a kit just about anywhere. It takes a very common kit.

I think some trucks have the stock radio knobs go thru the cover panel though, you would have to trim that (cut and hack) or get a different one for a couple bucks a junkyard.

i was wondering because it is a small square radio and it wouldnt be near big enough for a normal headunit, unless like you said you trim around the dash front

Both my truck and my parts truck had the larger hole, so I don't think they are all that uncommon to find. The normal smaller sized radio fits perfectly in them.

i have since dissassembled the dashboard in the ranger to find a large hole behind the trim as stated above, i jus cut out the trim peice to show the face of the headunit, i also cut the connectors off the wiring harness because no one carries the aftermarket ones around here...note: The wires from your stock harness are not a power/ground combo nor an ignition/power combo, but with the help of a volt tester its easy to find your way around it...my standard cab ranger has wires for a seperate set of speaker i presume some came wih door or rear speakers, and the whit wires control BOTH front speakers.
