1977 Pinto

hey, go for it... nothing wrong with a pinto. here is a link to our build from many moons ago, and if you join this site they will help you with any question and maybe parts you seeking... great guys here... cheers

Oh man, a Pinto! I haven't see one of those in the wild in many years... cool find!

Used to see Pintos in demolition derbies fairly often, ironically. They usually didn't last too long against the big cars but it was fun to watch.

Demo derbys suck nowadays. Its all panther cars or unibody shitboxes.

I ran a couple a long time ago. In a 75 LTD with a 351M. She held her own untill i got locked up with a big ol chrysler with a 440.

I blew it up lol.

So I'm going to try to upload a couple more pics. A couple of the 2.3 and one of the driver and the truck the engine came out of. I don't have a whole lot of info as the driver has passed on. He was based out of Red Deer. I will update as I find info. I got the motor in trade for some roof work a couple years ago.

Well, I was able to get one pic up... I wish I could figure out why I'm having problems uploading pics.

There are always a bunch of Pintos at Carlisle, several look better than new. There's an orange 77-78 with a white vinyl top and a swapped in Turbo Coupe engine that comes every year. I think the one year only 76 grill looks best and the 79-80 Rally dash is the bet dashboard- it has a big speedo and tach on either side of the steering column and 3 other gauges along the center of the dash over the radio.

I loved my 77 Pinto. Great car. My dad bought it brand new for less than 3k. Manual everything with a 4 speed. Didn't even have a radio. Drove the wheels off it and even took a pretty bad t-bone by a Chevy Citation. Had to strap it to a tree and use a come-a-long to straighten the A-pillar. Still drove it for 3-4more years... Tough little bugger and great in the snow with studs.

Do you edit them in any way? It may be helpful to because I never have any problems that I can recall. A simple MGI protosuite from a yard sale circa maybe 2k and 5, and 50 cents. Just simply rotate if needed, or crop out the unnecessary stuff , maybe click enhance, and it can also do a lot for the photos, including lessening the size of the files

Previous to this problem I never edited the pics. But perhaps the new phone is taking bigger pics. I'll try that, thanks.

Our local one has newer cars banned.

So instead of a bunch of something we get like 15 cars.

When I was a kid in the 90's they would go until like midnight with all the various heats, it was awesome.

This is the best picture I could find of the rally dash, I think the "Cruising Wagons" used them, too.
