1950 A-C WD Resurection

I'll get pictures of our 45 with the quick change front. We have two narrow fronts for it, but no tricycle or wide front.

I forgot the shaft was just bolted to the spindle. I had to replace the shaft on mine because someone let the bolt get loose and the key was all worn

looks nice. i have a 49 jd A, a 46 ford 2N, and about a month ago i got a 42 allis C with a 6' underbelly mower, its been awesome taking off 6' per pass when mowing vs the old 77 jd 212 with the 38" deck, just about cut my mowing time in half. yes, i did paint the rims, hood stripe and grille.

Cool, I have a '46 JD B, '47 A-C C, '50 WD and the '53 WD-45 for a fleet. I keep bouncing between a D17, D19 or a 190 for the next one.

I have a Troy Built self propelled mower. Does that count as a tractor? :annoyed: :icon_confused: :icon_rofl:

I gotta mention my mighty Murray then. 16.5hp of 46" grass munching power!

Dad has just about one of everything. Couple two bangers, couple Farmalls, a Massey 44, couple Olivers, MM UTU, a WD (and two parts WD's) a 4010, a 4020 that he put a 7720 combine engine in and a bunch of Cases (3x VAC, SC, DC, 400, 2x 800, 830 and a 900)

He likes them all, the new gen JD's were the big thing when he started at JD in the mid 70's so he likes them... but his Case's are his babies.

My dad ended up with a 48 H farmall somehow, it just appeared one day in the back of the barn, dont know much about it or why he would want it, its just a few more hp than the 46 2N, no 3point, just a drawbar tractor. 5 speed though, seems to be taller than the 49 A jd, I got on it and about hit my head on the beams above me, was plenty of room on the A when it was parked in the same spot.

My B is the same way, feels like you are on top of the world. Visibility is awesome, especially for things like cultivating.

We use a '46 H to tug things around here at work and to test run smaller PTO stuff we work on, darn handy little tractor.

Cleaned up the lift rams with emery cloth, hit them with penetrating oil, turned the rams back and forth with a wrench, one at a time hooked them up the rockshaft and pushed down, pulled the rockshaft up, reoiled, repeated a few times for each cylinder. Hydraulic lift works great.

Attacked the hydraulic outlet coupler, got the stupid bracket I keep getting caught on ripped off and finally got the outlet broke loose from the hold valve.

Also got the metal gear shift knob insert off, cleaned the threads on the shifter and replaced the shift knob, much nicer. Need to do the same for the PTO but I think that one is going to be a bugger.

I did notice the link going to the snap-coupler to the hydraulic pump is broken and most of it is missing... thinking we may have one on a parts tractor. Calling off the search for a headlight band as of today too, went ahead and ordered a new one so i can get lights working on the thing. We may have snow to push this year and it would be great to use the one with halogen sealed beams.
