My credo
Lead or follow... or just get out of my way
I get that message on the message center... select OK... it goes away but the Information indicator remains illuminated. There is no check engine light and it drives really good with no drivability issues. I haven't tried to pull codes yet but the vehicle will be here all day tomorrow and the next so I will. As far as I know the check engine light has never tripped... but I don't drive it everyday.

So what gives with this message?

seems like a generic message.

Best bet is to see if there are any stored codes.

Probably need to change the oil. lol

Well that is true... because the change oil now message also is on.

But this is an entirely different message.

So do newer models have sensors for all the filters?

edit: So I googled the phrase and all sorts of strange answers came in. From a weak battery to a coolant leak.

Do you have the owners' manual?

I do have the owners manual... I forgot to bring it in and it is pouring in buckets right now.

I did try to dive into the message center when I was out today. The average fuel economy numbers are low... 25.7 mpg. That's down from the average I noticed last time I looked. There is also like a circle with a slash through it when viewing that screen. Like it's indicating a fault perhaps.

Just seems to be redundant... why not just use the CEL?

The CEL will make it fail emissions inspection. An engine fault can be something non emissions related. Scan it and see if there’s any codes.

I guess I didn't look close enough when she bought it.... there is no Owner Manual.

I did view it just now for free on Ford.com

Probably says to take it to you local Ford dealer.

Pretty much exactly what it says...

I need to charge up my tablet and see what FORscan finds for codes.

The car is blaming whatever is going wrong on the engine. “It’s the engines’s fault!”

@Uncle Gump I hate to say this but your car is a liberal and won't take responsibility for its fault. Best coarse of action... your decision. lol

I don't want to get banned. lol
