...I used to hang out here... who remembers?

Blast from the wayback machine (that's Jim in the middle there)

I've been driving my little GMC Canyon for some time now, thinking about giving her to the wife, and giving the Explorer to my son for his 16th - sooo I'm thinking about a carbbed 84 BII and getting into it again... whatcha think?

Like the prodigal son....we'll take you back into the fold.
Welcome Back.

Whar Potsi? Whar that big corn-fed poon be? hehe - making a dump run, brb...

pottsy? aaron potts you mean?

drove by his place 10 times the last year and a half and still aint seen em.

so. carb b2? get it. then we can drop a 4 whizzer ecoboost in it and you will have something dangerous...i mean fun to play with.

i am trying to place ya...:icon_confused:

but i aint worth a fawk on names half the time....or anything else:D

Yep, Aaron Potts. Gave him no end of shit on the boards, then meet him in Canfield on the fairgrounds - he was eye-level standing outside my lifted 99 Ranger, thought I was going to get pummeled...
I am/was Dennis 'Yeehaw' Price with the green 99 lemon Ranger that went to the 4x4 Jamboree/Wellsville, then Blackyee, from Arizona - now East Tennessee if that jogs your memory - I also did the PA body lift howto here at TRS.

What I'm shooting for here is a non-ECU-equipped vehicle to run around in. Points and condenser, baby! Been looking at a 59 GMC, 78-79 F150's etc. No computer sir.

fawk that. too much work. hard to keep it tight in the winter ect...one bad cold start and the plugs are wobbly...and its a down hill spiral from there. of course theres good ignitions and awesome plugs these days, but we soaked a few sets of plugs in some buggies last winter in that ridiculous cold, the efi bronco 2 i was in saved all of our asses ice fishing.

if you want dumb and easy....get a mechanical a diesel then. thats what i did, i pulled my small block back in 08 cause it was too costly to operate and i like driving my ranger...its usually my primary transportation...these days it has a hummvee engine with modded injectors so i can burn an array of fuels.

theres a bad ass little wet sleeve motori in 2.8 liters with timing gears that can make 200 hp easy enough...its marketed as a cummins marine 4 cyl. and can burn black just like my setup...and likely get much better economy.

i like the vw engines, but the timing belt i cant really get my head around as acceptable as i drive so many miles. i wish someone would come up with a gear kit for those critters, i would put one in the b2.

i must have met ya. i was at those events.

and i still drive the same junk.

Your name looks familiar... Hahaha, I started coming on here about the time you were, 16 years ago. But I kept getting banned for life by redshred. I once used his name in the chat and said, "I like the sausage delivery guy". He caught wind of it and that was one of the times I got banned for life. :D

Well, look at those pics - anyone seem familiar? Which truck is yours?

As far as being carbbed, winter isn't bad with a manual choke, drive them for years in all kinds of weather - worst is a VW Baja, can't keep the carbs/intake tubes from freezing up.
Just simply want to avoid the EMP rush and have something dependable to roll around in. I was offered three vehicles for my Canyon (59 GMC stepside, 69 Dodge Dart, and a 64 Chevy stepside) but just couldn't do it I've had that Canyon since she had 77 miles on her, stock as a box of rocks, and getting 20MPG. 184k miles later she averages 27MPG after tweaking/de-GM'ming her and tops out around 142 or so. Not bad from a 2.9L 4banger fly-by-wire ;)

Oh and btw, I swear I saw CoryM* over at Coloradofans....

*had the two-wheel drive nitrous Ranger back there in Canfield all those years ago

Current rides...

drove out on the front wheels and went 40 miles to find parts...

pretty sure it was the same trip. :icon_confused:

I used to get on rrorc a ton. I had a Navajo tho, so I mostly lurked. I was pretty far west anyway- still am. Potsy was a good dude from what I gathered.

I drive a ranger now. It looks a little bit like Bobbys ranger looked back in the day. It used to be a nice truck man. Not that it doesn't have some nice features now. But it was cleanish and straightish the way I remember.
