When choosing between the 215/75-15 and 225/70-15 sizes, is there really much difference? And if so what would lean more favorably to winter conditions?

I understand the number designations, but the width and height is only different by an inch or two, so that's why I'm asking.

Thanks

don't know where you live, but here where i do, i prefer to add an inch or 2 in tire height for the deep snow we get every winter. of course that is followed by the deep mud every spring when the thaw comes. just my $.02.
and welcome to TRS!

the 215/75 is about .25" taller than the 225/70 and obviously a touch skinnier. id go with the 215/75's if i were in your position.
