I have a 93 ranger 2.3L 5speed with stock 225/70 r14 tires. I purchased a set of 15x7s off a 2000 to put on the 93 I would like to stay as close to the stock size as possible looks like a 215/70 r15 is pretty close. will the 215s mount on the 7" rim and not look awkard

Those should be fine.

A few tires come in a 235/60R15 which you could try also (slightly wider but a hair shorter).

You can do a Google search for "tire size comparison tool" too. There are several that will let you compare what you've got to different rim/tire combos so you can dial in just what you need to keep your desired look.

215/70-15's will fit fine. On later model 2wd Rangers 225/70-15's were the standard size but either will be okay.
