Due to our storms the other day, I had to do some quick evassive driving when a tree up the street lost a limb after the storm. (hadn't broke all the way through)
Ended up getting stuck in a tire from part of a limb and all my tires have around 7K miles on them (225/70R14 Duehlers currently, last one Sears had a couple or three years back).
Not many miles due to company provided (larger) truck.

Anyone even carry LT tires for these Rangers anymore? Not really in the mood to replace 4 tires, a spare, and 2 snow tires (on the same rims), with larger wheels, "just cause".:damnit1:

Isn't the load rating on the door? (trying to remember where it was, so if I have to go P tires, I at least get something close)

Thanks

I would stick with the P rated tires on a Ranger, that's what in came with and your Ranger will have a better ride with them.

Good luck finding an LT tire for a 14 inch rim. Honestly finding any 14 inch tires is getting harder and harder. I think the one shop here in town only has access to about 4 different ones and they are all passenger type. This is why my truck is getting the 15 or 16 inch rims before winter. Ofcourse i'm in a different boat seeing as my tires will all need replaced. You may try looking for either used or see what some of the yards around you have.

If you go to a yard learn to read the year the tire was made (embossed on the tire)...avoid anything over 6 years old...get as new as possible...you won't necessarily see the cracks in the sidewall...as I found out.

The most truck like tire I know of for the 14" wheel is the Firestone Destination AT.

The age of a tire is the last 4 digits of the D.O.T. code, The first two are the week and the last two are the year. If it only has A group of 3 numbers run away they are from the 90's or older.
