well my stock 1354 got a beating and took a chunk out of the case. so after searching for a replacement 1354m, and not finding any for under $400, i just went ahead and got a 1354 electric, with all the wiring. Now is it possible to ether put some kind of linkage on the outside of the t-case so i cal go under the truck and put it in 4x4 by hand, ??? or can i install the ele. t-case harness in my truck? Last time i tried it, it shorted out a module in front of my batt. Thanks, Alex.:icon_confused:

You can always pull the motor off and climb under and shift it with a pair of pliers each time you need it.

Other than that, wiring up the harness is the only option. Most people would tell you to swap out your electric case for a manual case. Not many go the other direction. I am sure it can be done, but it may not be worth the cost involved.

how much of your old case was destroyed? maybe you can mix and match it back together with the e-case

I just bought a 1354 manual t-case today and my local junkyard for $81 with all the shifter parts and shifter including the core charge. I got it from http://www.bobcossellupullit.com

If you can get there or to any u-pull-it junkyard, stuff is way cheaper. I have the electronic shift and I hate it. Wiring the electric would be near impossible, but u might try finding a 1350 manual t-case. I believe the outer case on a 1354 manual is no different from the 1350. They are much easier to find on top of that. There are some for cheap on ebay right now.

The internals of a 1354 and 1350 are the same too, all except in the later year 1354's the low range has 6 planetary gears instead of 4. The main difference in them is the front output. The 1350 has a slip joint, and the 1354 has a fixed output.
