I was testing out my tcase operation on a 94 ranger 4l automatic with electric tcase on sharp turns in 4 high a loud banging is heard in t case area almost like a u joint binding up but checked all u joints and replaced all on front axle.
pulled tcase out and apart found pickup hose to pump broken and grooves worn on mainshaft and sprocket.also scratches or grooves in the electric clutch faces for 4low. im thinking that there is to much wear in sprocket and mainshaft allowing to much slack in chain causing chain to jump when loaded.chain and front shaft sprocket seam to be fine.gonna cost me 600 to replace all these components and i need to be sure these parts are defective.parts up here in northern canada are expensive so no 50 or 100 dollar tcases from wreckers.

Getting a t-case from some other canadian or american with access to a 100 dollar t-case would not add up to 600 with shipping.

I don't know what part of "northern" Alberta you are from, but where I am, I could find four transfer cases in about ten minutes here and have them delivered for about $150 each! Maybe you just gotta start letting your finger do the walking and have one shipped to you via Grey Goose.

yup. I just called 4 auto wreckers for a manual T-case for my 94. Two wreckers in Edmonton said $250 (jaybeck and westlock), one said $450 (Central auto parts who overcharge on everything!!), and the one here in Fort McMurray said $350.
Besides, even if you don't know it yet, you want to ditch your electronic T-case get a manual one
