12.34MPG with 4.0

what gear ratio? auto or manual? is it running good and smooth? right psi of fuel?

Gears? Kind of driving? I've gotten significantly worse than that (9.5MPG) and better (15+MPG), depending on where and how I'm driving.

have you corrected your odometer after the tire change?

Its a stock dana 28 from 89 so i guess it would be 410's. The transmission is auto and i'm driving it 55 miles exactly on the highway. I measured the distance using another car, my trip is still wrong cause of the 33's.

if your trip is wrong, its hard to calculate exact mileage. unless you do NOTHING but 55 miles a day....

What i did was, i filled it up before i left. I drove 55 miles EXACTLY, then filled the tank back up and divided the miles by the amount of gas i used and then i got 12.34. 12.34 is what it is getting highway, all im asking is if this is normal or should i be getting more?

Auto combined with 4.10s isn't enough gear, you need 4.56s.

talked to a guy getting 16.5 or so with 33's and 4.56's with the a4ld..
if i can pull that off i'll be happy lol

edit: his 33's are bfg at's.. btw

well i guess i'll need to save up for some gears. Thanks for the input btw!:headbang:

I would like to point out that we don't KNOW that he has 4.10s. 3.45 was a much more common ratio that year.

Has nothing to do with year, if it was a factory auto, it should either be 3.73s or 4.10s, and it's a moot point, because it still needs 4.56s gears, which we know it doesn't have.
