Okay so I've scoured the internet and can't find any help on how to remove the head off of a 110cc chinese quad. It blew a head gasket and I was asked to fix it, but I've never dealt with anything quad/bike related besides a 5hundo.

I've got all the bolts out, exhaust and intake disconnected and it still won't come off.

Any ideas?

Thanks guys.

Is it OHC with a timing chain/sproket in the head? On my little Honda CT-70 I think there are four bolts that hold the sproket on, but it has probably be 10 years since I have been in one.

Yeah it looks like a timing chain with 3 bolts on it. All my buddies that I've called are like, what? Timing chain? No... :icon_rofl:

But the sucker keeps spinning on me and I can't figure out how to lock it up to take it off... I'm pretty sure the chain is the only thing holding it on cuz the other side is coming off with the persuader bar.

Is there a hole in the sprocket to insert something to keep it from turning?

I don't remember what I did with my '70. :dunno:

If nothing else you might be gentle on it and try it with the tranny in gear. Don't get carried away with it and break something else though.

Nope just a hole in the middle that the bolt goes from side cover to side cover.

And I tried the in gear thing... It's on of those uni-gear suckers. The clutch and the brake are the same thing :icon_rofl: and somehow it does 35 with one gear :shok:

Got it! I love screwdrivers. Now the stupid steering column thingy is in the way :bawling:

Oh well I just hope it runs when I put it back together :icon_twisted:
