1000w rms badge

a 1000 watt z edition amp
and 4 pioneer 6x9 speakers lol go ahead and laugh

I just noticed this group.

I have 2 Audiobahn 1000w monoblock amps pushing 2 JVC 10" dual voice coils subs and a 800w Audiobahn 4 channel amp pushing 6x8 components.

The 1000w are rated at 650 RMS each, the 4 channel is 400w RMS, so thats about 1500 watts RMS!!

What ever works. I think my first system was 2 generic 10" speakers - can't even remember the brand, but it was a really off brand, and a Rockford Fausgate 100w amp with degraded factory speakers. I was 15 and had my permit at the time. That system sounded like absolute complete total shat. After that, I've had a ton of combos with used equipment in high school (cause it was cheap). Finally have something half way decent. Takes some time to figure out exactly what you want. Don't need competition equipment or gigawatts to have a decent sounding stereo system.

I'm still piecing my stuff togather. I need to get rid of my 60/40 seats and get 2 buckets. I have all my wiring already. I'm looking for a nice gps/dvd/cd in dash. I'm unsure what component speakers I'm gonna be using but I'm thinking mbquarts, infinity focal or JL zr series. I have 2 audiobahn 1.5 farad capacitors. Now the amps I have I think means I qualify Phoenix gold tantrum 1200.1 and 2 phoenix gold tantrum 600.4 , Brand new never out of the box. I'm only gonna be using 1 of the 600.4 amps but I think I qualify because the the 1200.1 is Bridged RMS Power: 1200W x 1 @ 2 Ohms and the 600.1 is RMS Power: 75W x 4 @ 4 ohms. My subs are also old but still brand new in the box. they are 3 JLw6s. Does that get me a badge or do I have to install it first? Anyone wanna trade some seats?

Looks like that's all peak power rating. Usually if it's RMS rating, it is specificed. If it's not, it's safe to assume that it is peak power. Peak power is a worthless figure.

Im running 2 12" Alpine Type Rs off a MTX Thunder 1501d amp (1krms x 1 @ 4 ohms)
then a Hifonics txi-6406 for mids/highs.

not alot of cheap amps run their rms but if you step it up to higher class they will sometimes under rate their rms. the 1000d i just got by memphis the lady at the audio store said it would actually be around 1400 watts rms. sony rates their 1000watt amp at 500 rms at 2ohm i think. id guess it would actually bbe around 300-350. go with big brand stuff such as memphis, kicker, jl, like them and they rate thier amps by rms not peak
